Singing songs of Praise and Worship in our gatherings and spiritual meetings are our expression of adoration, admiration and love for our Creator, Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ who is our Lord our God, we sing not only in our gatherings but also when we are having a one on one time with our God in our prayers and quiet times.
Following are two verses we would like ponder upon today.
- Colossians 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
- Ephesians 5:18-19: “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart…”
In Colossians 3:16 we are instructed to continue reading Bible which is the true Word of the Lord and let it be embedded in our hearts and let it live in our hearts and once we have the Word of God dwelling in our hearts we can start sharing it with others and we are also instructed to sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankful hearts.
In Ephesians 5:18-19 we are instructed to be filled with the Spirit of the Lord singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs and make heart melodies to the Lord and not to get drunk with wine.
Singing brings such joy in our hearts and also it brings Joy to the Lord.
